Shift Hours: Wednesday–Tuesday | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
The Advanced Clinical Pharmacist (ACP) supports critical care services by coordinating, developing, and maintaining clinical pharmacy programs to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use. This role works closely with interdisciplinary clinical teams to optimize patient outcomes while ensuring compliance with pharmacy standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Review medication orders and pharmacy technician work to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, dosing, route, and potential drug interactions
Adjust medication dosages and schedules based on patient condition and established policies
Ensure safe medication dispensing in accordance with age-specific guidelines
Prepare and oversee sterile IV admixtures in compliance with USP 797 standards
Participate in clinical data evaluation, medication-use analysis, and drug/drug-class monograph development
Support development and maintenance of clinical pharmacy toolkits
Provide oversight of pharmacy distribution processes, including order receipt, storage, dispensing, and controlled substance handling
Monitor and reconcile controlled substance transactions and maintain compliance with DEA documentation
Assist with physician consults and provide accurate, timely drug information
Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and families in a professional and empathetic manner
Promote a patient-centered environment that supports quality care and safety
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Open to experience level
New graduates accepted with active Florida Pharmacist License
Hospital experience or completion of a pharmacy residency preferred but not required
Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with clinical resources used to maintain current clinical knowledge
Active Florida Pharmacist License – Required
Strong customer service and communication skills
Critical thinking and sound clinical judgment
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
