7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
9:00 AM – 7:30 PM
10:00 AM – 8:30 PM
We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality post-operative nursing care in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting. This role is critical in ensuring patient safety and stability during the immediate recovery phase following surgical procedures. The PACU RN collaborates closely with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
Provide immediate post-anesthesia nursing care, including airway management and hemodynamic monitoring
Monitor neurological, respiratory, and cardiac status and respond promptly to changes or complications
Deliver post-operative wound care and pain management
Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe patient recovery
Utilize critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practices to deliver safe, effective care
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care accurately and timely
Educate patients and families on post-operative care, recovery expectations, and follow-up needs
Participate actively as a member of a multidisciplinary care team
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
Self/preferential scheduling posted four weeks in advance
Supportive leadership with open communication and shared decision-making
Staffing support from nursing assistants, patient care technicians, charge nurses, and RN float resources
Regular leadership rounding to ensure staff feedback and engagement
Minimum 1 year of recent acute care PACU RN experience (within the last year)
Critical Care experience strongly preferred in addition to PACU experience
Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license
Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation
Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS (Basic Life Support) required within 30 days of start
ACLS required within 60 days of start
PALS required within 60 days of start
RN or APRN license accepted
