Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join a growing inpatient nursing team at a community-based acute care hospital. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult medical-surgical patients while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in clinical status

  • Perform nursing procedures, monitoring, and treatments as ordered by medical providers, ensuring accurate and timely documentation

  • Administer medications safely, monitor therapeutic responses, and intervene appropriately in the event of adverse reactions

  • Provide timely, responsive care by anticipating patient needs and addressing concerns proactively

  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and discharge instructions using clear, patient-friendly language

  • Advocate for patients and families while supporting a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork

  • Collaborate with physicians, peers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans

Unit Overview

  • Adult Medical-Surgical units with approximately 50+ total beds across two units

  • Community acute care setting

  • Non-trauma facility

  • Supportive leadership and team-oriented environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience required

  • Active Florida RN license or approved multistate (compact) RN license

    • Compact license holders must obtain a Florida license within 60 days of relocation

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
