Assignment Length: 14 Weeks
Schedule: Night Shift | 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Hours: 36 hours/week
Pay Rate: $55 – $60/hour

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to pre- and post-surgical patients in an acute or post-acute care setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, hands-on nursing expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe and positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans

  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-operative patients

  • Administer medications safely and accurately, including documentation

  • Perform clinical procedures such as dressing changes, IV initiation, and catheter insertion

  • Monitor vital signs and promptly report changes in patient condition

  • Operate and manage medical equipment; document clinical data accurately

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff on patient care and discharge planning

  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and post-discharge care

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation

  • Adhere to nursing standards, policies, and evidence-based best practices

Required Skills & Experience

  • Acute Care: Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital

  • Post-Acute Care: Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in an acute or post-acute hospital setting

  • Most recent Med/Surg experience within the past year

  • Strong physical assessment and clinical decision-making skills

  • Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency

  • Wound care and infection prevention experience

  • Post-operative patient care expertise

  • Patient and family education skills

Education Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active New York State RN License (Primary Source Verified)

  • AHA BLS Certification (required)

  • AHA ACLS Certification (required for Queens assignments only)
