A large, multi-hospital healthcare system serving a coastal regional community, offering comprehensive acute care services. The system includes a full-service acute care hospital with advanced cardiovascular services, bariatric surgery, gynecology, robotic surgery, and a comprehensive Women’s Center with NICU services. The organization also supports graduate medical education and provides a broad range of specialty services including emergency care, cardiac care, orthopedic services, rehabilitation, behavioral health, oncology, and outpatient services. Programs are focused on individualized patient care using advanced medical techniques and evidence-based practices.
The Nurse Manager, Labor & Delivery (RN) ensures high-quality, patient-centered care through oversight of daily unit operations and staffing. This role is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the delivery of nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager holds staff accountable for quality, safety, and clinical outcomes in alignment with organizational objectives.
Oversee daily operations and staffing for the Labor & Delivery unit.
Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivery to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care.
Promote a culture of accountability, patient safety, and clinical excellence.
Support staff performance management and ensure quality outcomes.
Collaborate with leadership to meet departmental and organizational goals.
Participate in on-call leadership coverage for related Women’s Services areas on a rotating basis.
Minimum 1+ year of recent (within the last year) leadership experience in Labor & Delivery required.
Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Reports to: Nursing leadership
Reason for opening: Backfill
Labor & Delivery unit includes multiple labor rooms, obstetric beds, and surgical suites.
Oversees approximately 80 FTEs.
Provides rotating on-call leadership support for additional Women’s Services units (telephone and emergency coverage as needed).
