A well-established educational institution is seeking a dedicated Autism Support Teacher (Long-Term Substitute) to support students enrolled in an Autism Program. The role involves delivering classroom instruction, providing behavioral and academic support, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
Provide daily classroom instruction for students in an Autism Program (Grades 9–RG)
Follow lesson plans and curriculum guidelines provided by the school
Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior support strategies
Maintain a structured, positive, and safe classroom environment
Manage classroom behavior using approved behavior intervention techniques
Assist students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom activities
Collaborate with special education staff, paraprofessionals, and school administration
Maintain basic student documentation, progress notes, and required records
Prior experience working with students with Autism and special needs
Strong understanding of special education classroom practices
Ability to manage classroom behavior and support diverse learning needs
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Ability to follow IEPs, school policies, and instructional guidelines
Bachelor’s Degree required
Special Education background or relevant experience preferred
