We are seeking an experienced LAN Network Support Engineer to build, configure, and support LAN-based networks with a mix of thick and thin clients. The engineer will perform hardware installation, software configuration, and system validation to ensure successful deployment and compliance with acceptance testing.
Install customer hardware including thick and thin clients, servers, switches, firewalls, root bridges, and time servers.
Load hardware to desks and network racks and wire according to provided interconnect diagrams (fiber, Cat6e, power).
Configure and integrate the software stack on top of hardware including:
Initial setup and de-hardening of hardware via scripts.
Installation of multiple software layers and client/3rd party cybersecurity products.
Testing redundancy, failover, intrusion detection, and data flow through firewalls.
Logging defects and following up on Non-Conformance Notices (NCNs).
Participate in customer witness sessions both onsite and remotely.
Support standardization of processes across global sites and collaborate with engineering teams to refine standard work procedures.
Track project timelines and schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
Ensure integration of all projects according to specifications.
Pack and ship projects after successful audits and testing.
Strong LAN networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, DHCP)
Hands-on experience with Windows Server and Linux Server
Experience with Active Directory, GPO, and File Server management
Knowledge of thin client solutions (Citrix, RDP, VDI, VMware Horizon)
Familiarity with thick client OS support (Windows/Linux)
Basic firewall and network security understanding
Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) – preferred
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Willingness to provide onsite and remote support
