Shift: Night Shift | 3×12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
The Registered Nurse (Medical Surgical) provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in an acute care medical-surgical setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple patient assignments during night shifts. The RN will deliver evidence-based care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care in a Medical-Surgical unit
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and protocols
Manage patient assignments with a typical night shift ratio of 1:5 to 1:6
Utilize EPIC Electronic Medical Records for documentation and care coordination
Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
Float to other units within scope of practice based on patient care needs and leadership discretion
Adhere to infection prevention, safety standards, and hospital policies
Active New York State RN License
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital nursing experience
Prior travel nursing experience required
BLS (AHA) certification required
EPIC EMR experience required
Willingness to float within scope of practice as needed
ACLS (AHA) certification
Experience working night shifts in high-acuity Med Surg units
