Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant – Outpatient Physician Services
Location: Teaneck, NJ 07666
Job Type: Contract | 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week)
Pay Rate: $17–$19 per hour
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations in an outpatient cardiology setting. The CMA will assist physicians and nurses in providing quality patient care, while performing essential office and clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare exam and treatment rooms, instruments, and supplies
Room patients and assist with physician exams
Take and record vital signs
Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment
Perform EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus Test, UDS, BAT, Phlebotomy, and other lab tests (as applicable)
Maintain accurate patient records and complete documentation
Assist with collections, billing, and office procedures
Use EMR and office computer systems for data entry and record-keeping
Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
Adapt care to patient’s specific needs (age, culture, language, disabilities)
Lift ≥5 lbs, push/pull ≥10 lbs, and stand ≥6 hours/day
Perform additional duties/projects as assigned
Required Skills & Experience:
3+ years of medical assistant experience preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with diverse populations in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in EMR and computerized office systems
Hard skills: rooming patients, taking vital signs, EMR usage; blood drawing a plus
Education:
Required: High School diploma or GED
Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Certifications & Licenses:
Required: AHA BLS
Required (one of the following):
CMA-NHA, CMA-NCCT, CMA-AAMA, RMA-AMT, RMA-NAHP, AMCA, NCMA
