We are seeking an experienced Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer to support a high-volume cardiac imaging department. This role involves performing comprehensive echocardiographic procedures across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care settings. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, teaching hospital environment.
Perform adult echocardiograms in inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings.
Conduct advanced echo procedures including transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal studies.
Accurately obtain and analyze diagnostic images using portable and fixed imaging systems.
Assist with contrast administration, bubble studies, and pharmacologic stress testing.
Maintain image quality and proper documentation within electronic imaging and charting systems.
Collaborate with cardiologists, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
Float within scope of practice as needed to meet departmental needs.
Adhere to all departmental protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Department performs approximately 75–100 inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms per day.
Weekend coverage may be required depending on department scheduling.
Occasional on-call coverage may be required.
Block schedules may be accommodated (Tuesday–Saturday or Sunday–Thursday).
Requested time off should ideally not exceed five days during the contract.
Minimum 5 years of recent experience as an Echo Technologist.
BLS certification (required).
RDCS – Adult (required).
Experience in Inpatient and Emergency Room settings (required).
Proficiency with portable echocardiography and Syngo systems.
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic imaging techniques.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
RDCS – Pediatric (preferred).
Experience in:
Outpatient settings
Teaching hospitals
PICU, NICU, and Neonatal environments
Skills including:
IV starts
PACS
Cardiac biopsies
Experience with Siemens and Philips echocardiography equipment.
3D Echocardiography
Bubble Studies
Contrast Agents
M-Mode
Pharmacologic Stress Echocardiograms
Treadmill Stress Echocardiograms
TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography)
RVOT / RIT assessments
