Job Overview

"Navitas Partners, LLC" is seeking an experienced AI Specialist to design, develop, and deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and support innovation within public safety systems. This role will focus on building advanced AI-driven search and analytics capabilities using modern cloud-based architectures.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate real-world use cases into scalable AI solutions, while ensuring compliance with data security, privacy, and CJIS requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI/ML solutions to support natural language querying of law enforcement datasets, enabling users to search data using everyday language rather than complex SQL queries.

  • Analyze and understand public safety data models, including CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch), RMS (Records Management Systems), and FRMS, and their interrelationships.

  • Develop AI-powered search capabilities using existing datasets, including:

    • People (including aliases)

    • Identifiers

    • Incidents and offenses

  • Support future enhancements leveraging RMS data for predictive analytics and advanced insights.

  • Extract data from on-premise Oracle and SQL Server databases and migrate to the AWS Cloud.

  • Transform, normalize, and mask sensitive data (CJIS, PII, etc.) in compliance with security and regulatory standards.

  • Store data in AI-optimized formats, including vector databases (e.g., Pinecone) for semantic search.

  • Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using AWS Bedrock.

  • Integrate and deploy industry-standard AI models such as Claude or AWS Titan/Nova.

  • Ensure all components of the solution are securely hosted and managed within the AWS Cloud environment.

  • Stay current with AI/ML research, tools, and best practices to continuously improve solution quality.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of hands-on experience with public safety applications (CAD, RMS, FRMS).

  • Strong proficiency in Python (R is a plus) for data processing and ML development.

  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and Scikit-learn.

  • Solid understanding of data preprocessing, model training, validation, and deployment.

  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including SageMaker, EC2, and S3.

  • Knowledge of CJIS and PII data handling requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, and Jupyter Notebooks.

  • Familiarity with vector databases and semantic search implementations.

  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Experience with Azure ML or hybrid cloud environments is a plus.

Work Environment

  • Programming & ML: Python, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-learn

  • Big Data & Analytics: Apache Spark, Databricks

  • Cloud Platforms: AWS (primary), Azure (secondary)

  • Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, NoSQL, Vector Databases

  • Visualization: Tableau, Power BI
