We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support an Adult Psychiatry Unit and Psychiatric Float Pool. This role requires prior psychiatric nursing experience and the ability to work in a structured, patient-centered behavioral health environment. Pediatric experience is preferred, but not required.
The LPN will deliver direct patient care, assist providers, and support daily clinical and administrative operations. Candidates must be flexible to work every other weekend and select holidays. Both day shift and day/evening shift options are available.

Unit Coverage: Adult Psychiatry Unit & Psychiatric Float Pool
Provide direct patient care in a psychiatric inpatient setting with minimal supervision
Greet patients, escort them to exam or treatment areas, and prepare them for evaluations
Obtain and accurately record vital signs, patient progress, and clinical observations
Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations and procedures
Set up trays for injections and assist with minor clinical procedures
Administer injections and assist with Pap smears and other procedures within scope
Observe patient responses to treatments and promptly report changes to nursing staff
Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the RN in accordance with the care plan
Assist with appointment scheduling, filing, chart preparation, and reception duties
Contact insurance providers to obtain authorizations for diagnostic tests and procedures
Coordinate with primary care providers for referrals and referral extensions
Maintain exam rooms, clinical equipment, and overall unit cleanliness
Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
Participate in nursing unit operations, staff collaboration, and unit management activities
Active New York State LPN license
Ability to obtain or maintain CPR certification
Minimum 1 year of LPN experience
Psychiatric nursing experience required
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Ability to function effectively in an inpatient behavioral health environment
Active LPN License – required (minimum 1 year)
Psychiatric nursing experience – required
Inpatient hospital experience – highly desired (1 year)
EKG application experience – highly desired
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience – strongly preferred
Pediatric experience
Prior inpatient behavioral health or acute care experience
Strong organizational and documentation skills
