Job Title: Medical Assistant

Pay Rate: $24/hour
Location: Defiance, OH 43512
Duration: 7+ Weeks (with possible extension)

Shift Schedule

  • Monday & Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Wednesday & Friday: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Medical Assistant to support both front-office and back-office operations in a clinical setting. This role involves direct patient interaction, administrative support, and clinical duties, requiring a strong commitment to teamwork, patient care, and health education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet, room, and assist patients during clinic visits

  • Schedule appointments and answer incoming phone calls

  • Measure and record vital signs

  • Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures

  • Administer vaccines and assist with injections as directed

  • Conduct EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing

  • Support both front-office and back-office workflows as needed

  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient visits

  • Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to support daily operations

  • Provide patient education and support as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)

  • Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred

  • Occupational Health experience strongly preferred

  • Proven experience with phlebotomy/venipuncture

  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills

  • Basic computer proficiency

Required Skills

  • Front-office and back-office clinical experience

  • Phlebotomy and specimen collection

  • EKG administration

  • Point-of-care (POC) testing

  • Patient scheduling and coordination

  • Patient rooming and vital sign collection

  • BLS or CPR certification (required)
