Lunch: 30-minute unpaid break
Hourly Rate: Up to $50.00/hour
Weekly Pay: Up to $1,707.50
Guaranteed Hours: 35 hours per week
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher (Cross-Categorical) to support middle school students with diverse learning, emotional, and physical needs. This role involves delivering individualized instruction within a collaborative school environment while ensuring compliance with special education regulations and best practices.
Design and deliver individualized, standards-aligned instruction for students in a cross-categorical setting
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including goal setting and progress monitoring
Apply positive behavioral intervention strategies to support a safe and productive learning environment
Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
Conduct and interpret academic and social-emotional assessments to guide instruction
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education required (Master’s preferred)
Certification: Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education (K–12 or Middle School level)
Experience: Prior experience in a cross-categorical or self-contained classroom strongly preferred
Skills:
Strong knowledge of IDEA regulations
Proficiency with IEP documentation systems
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
