Job Title: EEG Technician

Location: Syracuse, NY

Position Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift | 5 × 8.5 hours
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Pay Rate: $58.00/hour

Job Summary

A healthcare facility  is seeking an experienced EEG Technician to support the Neurodiagnostics department. The EEG Technician will perform routine electroencephalogram (EEG) studies across all age groups in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring high-quality data collection and patient-centered care in accordance with professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine EEG studies in accordance with ASET guidelines

  • Conduct EEGs on neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients

  • Apply EEG electrodes accurately and safely

  • Analyze EEG waveforms and prepare data for physician interpretation

  • Edit and prepare 24-hour EEG recordings for review

  • Maintain EEG equipment and troubleshoot technical issues

  • Stock and organize EEG acquisition stations

  • Log equipment malfunctions and follow up per department protocol

  • Adhere to all hospital, safety, and departmental policies

  • Provide appropriate communication and support to patients and families

Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of EEG Technician experience

Certifications

  • Registered EEG Technician (R. EEG T)

  • BLS / CPR

Additional

  • Must pass pre-employment health clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)

Required Skills

  • EEG electrode application (adult & pediatric)

  • EEG waveform interpretation and descriptive analysis

  • Editing and preparation of EEG data for physician review

  • Advanced computer proficiency

  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills

  • Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
