Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 40 hours/week | Multiple day shifts between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Pay Rate: $28 – $35/hour
The Donor Room Apheresis Phlebotomy Technician I supports blood collection operations by performing donor screening, whole blood and apheresis collections, sample processing, and donor care in donor centers, mobile units, and offsite blood drives. This role ensures donor safety, quality standards, and excellent customer service while supporting recruitment, training, and quality initiatives.
Perform donor verification, blood and apheresis collections, and post-donation care
Support offsite blood drives and mobile collection units
Prepare, label, and process blood samples and components
Maintain supply inventory and ensure clean, safe work areas
Perform quality control, equipment calibration, and documentation
Review donor records, prepare reports, and support donor recruitment/retention
Assist with staff and volunteer training
Follow all policies, procedures, and safety protocols
High School Diploma or GED required
2 years Donor Phlebotomy experience or 1 year Apheresis Phlebotomy experience
National Phlebotomy Certification required
DPT (ASCP) Certification required
BLS Certification required
Knowledge of blood groups, Rh types, and donation procedures
Must complete apheresis equipment training within 3 months of hire
Typing speed: 30 WPM
QIA (ASCP) Apheresis Certification preferred
