Job Title: Behavior Assistant – Special Education (SPED)
Location: South Riding, VA
Duration: 24 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:15 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $27/hour
Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a patient and student-focused Behavior Assistant to support special education teams in delivering behavioral, emotional, and academic support. This role involves implementing behavior plans, supporting IEPs, and maintaining a safe, structured learning environment.
Responsibilities
Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior strategies
Provide one-on-one and small-group student support
Assist with social, emotional, and academic skill development
Observe, document, and track behavioral progress
Support classroom activities, transitions, and supervision
Assist with de-escalation using approved techniques
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and behavior specialists
Qualifications
High school diploma required; relevant coursework preferred
Experience with children, SPED, behavioral support, ABA, Autism, or PBIS preferred
Ability to work calmly in high-energy situations
Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
Patient, reliable, and committed to inclusive education
