Contract Details

Job Summary

A high-volume emergency department at a large acute-care teaching hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a mid-shift contract assignment. The RN will deliver rapid, high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients presenting with a wide range of emergency and trauma-related conditions.


Scheduling & Charting Details

  • Charting System: EPIC (experience required)

  • RTO / Special Scheduling Requests: Must be submitted at time of submission

  • Call-Off Policy: Facility may cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract without penalty

  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted


Licensure & Certifications

  • Active New York State RN license required (single-state only; NY is not compact)

  • Pending licenses not accepted

  • Certifications Required:

    • BLS

    • ACLS

    • NIHSS


Required Clinical Skills & Experience

  • IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV initiation/maintenance

  • Administration and management of IV vasopressors

  • CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management

  • Care of patients with CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injury (TBI)

  • Cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

  • Emergency care experience including adult and pediatric patients, gunshot wounds, and orthopedic trauma

  • Triage experience

  • Isolation precautions

  • Pediatric spinal cord injury experience


Unit Details & Floating

  • Patient Ratios: 1:5

  • Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics with a full spectrum of emergency diagnoses

  • Special Equipment: Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment

  • Floating: Required within scope of competency

  • Scrub Color: Any combination of navy blue and white
