Job Summary 

We are seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist for a contract assignment supporting cardiovascular surgical services. The technologist will assist the surgical team during cardiac procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, proper instrumentation, and patient safety throughout the operation.

Contract Duration 

• 13-week assignment 

Schedule 

• Shift: Day Shift 

• Schedule Type: 4x10-hour shifts 

• Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM 

• Block Scheduling: Not available 

• Orientation: 16 hours 

Call & Overtime Requirements 

• On-call required at least 2 weekdays per week 

• 1–2 weekends every 6-week schedule, based on department needs 

• Overtime opportunities available weekly 

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist surgeons during cardiovascular and open-heart procedures 

• Maintain sterile field and prepare surgical instruments and supplies 

• Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures 

• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and surgical protocols 

• Support efficient room turnover and case preparation 

Requirements 

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required 

• Certification from NBSTSA required 

• AHA BLS certification required 

• Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience 

• Pending licenses not accepted 

Additional Details 

• Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate (distance restrictions apply) 

• RTO (Requested Time Off): Must be submitted upfront; approval based on facility needs 

• Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off up to 1 shift every 2 weeks 

• Floating required to qualified units within the health system based on census needs 

• Free on-site parking provided 

Vaccination Requirements 

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required 

• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions permitted)
