Job Title: Medical Assistant
Location: St. Joseph, MO
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: Up to $24/hour

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to support both front and back office operations in a clinical healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will provide direct patient care, assist with clinical procedures, and perform administrative tasks to support efficient daily operations. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet, room, and prepare patients for examinations

  • Schedule appointments and manage incoming phone calls

  • Obtain and record patient vital signs

  • Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures

  • Administer vaccines per protocol

  • Conduct EKGs and point-of-care (POC) testing

  • Provide front and back office support as needed

  • Accurately document patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

  • Assist clinical staff with additional duties as required

Required Skills

  • Front and back office clinical support

  • Phlebotomy and venipuncture

  • EKG and POC testing

  • Patient scheduling and intake

  • Rooming patients and taking vital signs

  • EMR documentation

  • Current BLS or CPR certification

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (in addition to externship)

  • Total of 2–3 years of relevant healthcare experience preferred

  • Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred

  • Occupational Health experience strongly preferred

  • Phlebotomy/venipuncture and EMR experience required

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent patient communication skills

  • Proficiency in computer systems and clinical software

  • Commitment to working in a patient-focused environment centered on health education, outreach, and community impact
