Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Syracuse, NY
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours: 42.5 hours/week
Weekend Requirement: One weekend every other month
Pay Rate: $60 – $65/hour

Position Overview

A healthcare organization is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment services for patients with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders. This role primarily supports outpatient services, with inpatient coverage required on scheduled weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, cognition, voice, communication, and swallowing disorders

  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient needs

  • Provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing deficits

  • Schedule and manage patient evaluations and treatment sessions

  • Educate patients, families, and healthcare staff regarding communication and swallowing disorders

  • Prepare clinical documentation, progress notes, and evaluation reports in compliance with facility standards

  • Communicate effectively with referral sources and interdisciplinary care teams

  • Participate in program development within the Speech Therapy discipline and rehabilitation services

  • Contribute to community education and outreach programs as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Active New York State Speech-Language Pathology license

  • Clinical Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)

  • Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance

  • Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outpatient speech therapy experience

  • Experience providing inpatient services

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
