Job Title: RN – Neuro Critical Care (Night Shift)

Contract Duration: 16 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 12-hour shifts
Schedule: Includes every other weekend and some holidays
Hours per Week: 12 (with potential for additional shifts based on unit needs)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Neuro Critical Care for the Adult Neuro ICU. This role requires a highly skilled RN capable of providing advanced neurological critical care with minimal orientation and supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in an acute care setting

  • Perform detailed neurological and critical care assessments

  • Monitor and manage complex patient conditions, including post-operative neuro and trauma cases

  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and clinical protocols

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes

  • Accurately document patient care using an electronic medical record system

  • Respond effectively to emergency situations in a fast-paced ICU environment

Schedule Requirements

  • Night shift assignment

  • Every other weekend required

  • Some holidays required

  • Set schedules; time off greater than 7 consecutive days will not be approved

Required Qualifications

  • Current New York State RN License (active and unrestricted)

  • BLS certification (AHA)

  • Minimum 1 year of recent Neuro ICU experience (required)

  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a comparable hospital setting

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

  • Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and background check

Preferred / Highly Desired Experience

  • Experience in a Level I Trauma Center

  • Prior experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records

  • Background in high-acuity ICU or emergency/trauma environments
