Specialty: Adult Neuro ICU
Location: Syracuse, NY
Contract Duration: 16 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 12-hour shifts
Schedule: Includes every other weekend and some holidays
Hours per Week: 12 (with potential for additional shifts based on unit needs)
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Neuro Critical Care for the Adult Neuro ICU. This role requires a highly skilled RN capable of providing advanced neurological critical care with minimal orientation and supervision.
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neurological patients in an acute care setting
Perform detailed neurological and critical care assessments
Monitor and manage complex patient conditions, including post-operative neuro and trauma cases
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and clinical protocols
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
Accurately document patient care using an electronic medical record system
Respond effectively to emergency situations in a fast-paced ICU environment
Night shift assignment
Every other weekend required
Some holidays required
Set schedules; time off greater than 7 consecutive days will not be approved
Current New York State RN License (active and unrestricted)
BLS certification (AHA)
Minimum 1 year of recent Neuro ICU experience (required)
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience in a comparable hospital setting
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Legal authorization to work in the United States
Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance, drug screening, and background check
Experience in a Level I Trauma Center
Prior experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records
Background in high-acuity ICU or emergency/trauma environments
