Job Title: BDSI Senior Technical Lead

Location: Remote (New York)
Contract Duration: 1 Year

Position Overview

An organization is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Technical Lead to ensure the successful technology delivery of a citywide Business Diversity Software implementation. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can make complex architectural decisions, collaborate with senior business and technical stakeholders, and take full ownership of delivering high-quality, well-architected solutions on time.

The Senior Technical Lead will oversee all technical activities, provide direction to architects and developers, and ensure adherence to quality, security, and operational standards across the full development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with experience delivering both custom-built and COTS solutions in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful end-to-end technology delivery of a citywide Business Diversity Software implementation

  • Design and implement comprehensive solutions leveraging both custom development and COTS platforms

  • Remain hands-on as needed by:

    • Writing code

    • Configuring COTS solutions

    • Creating architecture diagrams

    • Building automation pipelines and system integrations

    • Submitting technical requests (e.g., bill of materials, firewall rule changes, security updates)

  • Manage all phases of the development lifecycle including requirements gathering, architecture, development oversight, testing, and deployment

  • Ensure compliance with legal, technical, and operational standards

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams to build secure, scalable, and robust solutions

  • Establish and enforce technical standards and quality control frameworks

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure overall system stability

  • Collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to define project goals, scope, risks, and mitigation strategies

  • Communicate technical details, project progress, and potential roadblocks clearly and effectively

  • Work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure security compliance throughout the development lifecycle


Mandatory Skills & Experience

(Candidates lacking mandatory requirements will not be considered)

Technical Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in software development and technical leadership

  • Hands-on experience with one or more major programming languages such as:

    • C#, .NET, Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, or Go

  • At least 2 years of configuration and customization experience with MS Dynamics and/or Salesforce CRM

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based architecture with hands-on experience in Azure and/or AWS

  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders

  • Proven interpersonal and collaboration skills

Project Management & Organization

  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

Security & Standards

  • Ability to recommend and articulate technology standards related to:

    • Security

    • Document transmission

    • Digital signatures

  • Ensure compliance with established cybersecurity standards and policies


Desired Skills & Experience

Business Acumen

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting policies and procedures

  • Ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications

  • Experience documenting non-functional requirements in collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Business Diversity Software

  • Knowledge of business diversity software platforms (e.g., B2GNOW or similar solutions)

  • Additional experience configuring and customizing MS Dynamics and/or Salesforce CRM is highly desirable.
