Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Psychiatric

Location: St. Louis, Missouri (ZIP: 63112)

Schedule & Shift Details

  • Shift Options: Day or Night

  • Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

  • Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM

  • Shift Length: 12-hour shifts

  • Break: 30-minute break included


Position Overview

A psychiatric care facility in St. Louis, MO is seeking experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurses to support inpatient psychiatric and/or correctional services. This role requires strong clinical judgment, crisis management skills, and prior travel nursing experience.


Required Experience & Credentials

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a psychiatric or correctional setting

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a traveling RN capacity

  • Valid Missouri RN License required


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ mental health status and monitor behavioral and emotional changes

  • Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for therapeutic effectiveness and adverse reactions

  • Ensure patient safety through close observation and crisis intervention techniques

  • Utilize therapeutic communication and de-escalation strategies

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary care teams

  • Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with psychiatric and mental health regulations.
