Position Overview

A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, counseling, and care planning for patients across diverse populations. This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective interdisciplinary collaboration, and accurate documentation to support optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients’ nutritional status using electronic medical records and input from the interdisciplinary healthcare team

  • Apply nutrition screening and assessment principles to determine individualized nutritional needs

  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record per organizational policy

  • Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and family members as appropriate

  • Develop, evaluate, and adjust nutrition care plans based on patient response and changing clinical needs

  • Assess the need for enteral and parenteral nutrition and provide appropriate recommendations

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate effectively with care team members

  • Assist with discharge planning related to nutrition care

  • Precept and mentor dietetic interns, providing instruction and performance feedback

  • Participate in community-focused nutrition education programs as assigned

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience, including completion of a dietetic internship

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), or RD-eligible with successful completion of the RD exam within three months of hire

  • Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition assessment and intervention

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in nutrient calculations and data analysis

  • Familiarity with pediatric nutrition and/or inborn errors of metabolism preferred

Certifications

  • BLS (AHA required)
