This role supports a 14-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry overflow unit designed to accommodate Emergency Department boarder patients. The unit operates as a flexible care space within an existing procedural area, with patient census fluctuating based on demand. The LPN/LVN will deliver direct patient care under RN supervision in an acute care setting.
Day shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekend coverage: Every other weekend
Call: May be required depending on staffing needs
Floating: Required, based on unit needs, within Medical Surgical scope of practice
Active LPN/LVN license (state-specific)
BLS certification required
Pending licenses not accepted
Minimum 1 year of acute care experience
Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry experience required
Previous charge experience preferred
First-time travelers accepted
Medical Surgical and Telemetry patient care
Emergency Department exposure
Blood glucose monitoring and testing
Feeding tube, NG tube, and G-tube care
Foley catheter insertion (male and female)
Medication administration: oral, IM, SQ, eye/ear drops
Oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face mask)
Patient ambulation and hygiene care
Vital signs monitoring
Isolation precautions
Admission support and patient transfers
Communication of patient condition changes to RN/MD
EPIC EMR experience required
SBAR communication for ED patients
Verbal handoff for non-ED admissions and transfers
