Job Title : Phlebotomist

Location: Greenville, SC

Hours: 40 hours/week
Note: Candidates must reside 100+ miles from Greenville, SC

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support in hospital laboratory. This role requires strong venipuncture skills, experience in trauma settings, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment. The Phlebotomist will collect and process specimens while ensuring patient safety, accuracy, and compliance with laboratory standards.

Shift & Scheduling Details

  • Shift: Day | 5x8-hour shifts

  • Hours: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

  • Block Scheduling: Not available

  • Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)

Licensure & Certifications (Required)

  • BLS Certification – Required

  • Active Phlebotomy Certification (one required):

    • NPS, ASCP, AMT, ASPT, NHA, ACA, NCCT, NPCE, NPA, NAPT, or NHCO

Experience Requirements

  • Trauma Level I experience required

  • Recent travel experience required (no first-time travelers)

  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience

  • Strong hospital-based phlebotomy experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection for inpatient and outpatient populations

  • Accurately label, handle, and transport specimens per laboratory protocols

  • Maintain infection control and patient safety standards

  • Utilize EPIC EMR for specimen documentation and tracking

  • Communicate effectively with nursing, laboratory, and clinical teams

  • Adapt to floating assignments across qualified units as needed

Floating Requirements

Contract staff may be required to float within the health system based on census needs. Floating will be limited to units where the phlebotomist is trained and competent.
