Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuroscience Ambulatory Care

• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 17-week assignment
Pay Rate: $50 – $55/hour
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuroscience Ambulatory Care provides comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions in an outpatient clinic setting. This role involves close collaboration with neurologists, neurosurgeons, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care focused on assessment, education, treatment support, and care coordination.
Provide direct nursing care in a neuroscience outpatient/ambulatory clinic setting
Perform neurological assessments and monitor patient status during clinic visits
Triage patient symptoms, concerns, and phone inquiries; escalate care as appropriate
Administer medications, injections, and infusions per provider orders and protocols
Assist with in-office neurological procedures and diagnostic testing
Educate patients and families on neurological conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up appointments
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient education in the EMR (EPIC preferred)
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff
Ensure adherence to infection control standards, safety guidelines, and clinic policies
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinic workflow optimization
Perform additional ambulatory nursing duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
Ambulatory, outpatient, or clinic nursing experience
Strong assessment, triage, and patient education skills
Ability to manage multiple patients in a fast-paced clinic environment
Experience with EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
Preferred Experience
Neuroscience, neurology, or neurosurgery experience
Experience managing chronic neurological conditions such as MS, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, or stroke follow-up
Active New Jersey RN License or Compact License
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
