Position Title: Radiation Therapist – Contract

Pay Range: Local: $40–$42/hour | Travel: $45–$50/hour
Position Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to safely and accurately deliver prescribed radiation treatments in accordance with Radiation Oncologist instructions. The role emphasizes patient setup, treatment delivery, quality assurance, and documentation, while maintaining patient comfort, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards in a clinical oncology setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately set up patients and administer prescribed radiation treatments
Verify Radiation Oncologist prescriptions for technical and mathematical accuracy
Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, immobilization devices, and beam parameters
Perform and document daily quality assurance and safety checks on treatment equipment
Acquire, review, and submit port images/beam films for physician approval
Monitor patients during treatment with continuous visual and verbal communication
Observe, document, and report any changes or adverse patient reactions promptly
Perform chart checks and maintain accurate treatment records in record/verify systems
Detect equipment malfunctions and report issues to senior therapy staff and medical physics
Maintain equipment, treatment rooms, and supplies in safe and organized condition
Assist with scheduling, chart rounds, and interdisciplinary treatment discussions
Educate and reassure patients regarding treatment procedures while ensuring privacy and dignity
Instruct and evaluate student radiation therapists as assigned
Create and adjust immobilization devices and shielding blocks during simulation
Attend in-service education, chart rounds, and ad hoc training sessions
Exhibit professional behavior and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of recent clinical radiation therapy experience
Experience with Varian TrueBeam technology and MOSAIQ EMR required
Education:
Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy program
Licensure & Certification:
ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy
Active New York State Radiation Therapist license
