Position Title: RN – ICU Step Down

Shift: Day | 3x11.5-hour shifts
Local Pay Range: $65–$70/hr
Travel Pay Range: $75–$82/hr
Position Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced ICU Step Down Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for patients transitioning from the Intensive Care Unit. This role requires delivering safe, evidence-based care, performing frequent assessments, and responding promptly to changes in patient condition while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care to ICU Step Down patients with moderate to high acuity
Monitor patients using advanced medical equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and catheters
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and escalate changes in condition appropriately
Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:4, caring for young adult through geriatric populations
Administer medications, IV therapies, and conscious sedation per protocol
Respond to rapid response calls and cardiac arrest codes
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to implement and adjust patient care plans
Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical Step Down experience or
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
Skills:
IV insertion and phlebotomy
Conscious sedation
Demonstrated completion of age-specific competency
Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program
Evidence of graduation from an accredited National League for Nursing (NLN) school
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience accepted
Licensure & Certifications:
Active New York State RN license (primary source verification via NYSED)
AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
