The Sterile Processing Production Coordinator is responsible for overseeing loaner and consignment tray coordination, daily production workflow, and communication across vendors, clinical partners, and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) teams. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and accountability throughout the full instrument processing lifecycle while supporting operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
Serve as the primary point of contact for managing all incoming and outgoing loaner and consignment trays.
Verify accuracy, completeness, and integrity of tray contents before and after sterilization.
Coordinate with vendors, clinical partners, and internal SPD teams to ensure timely delivery and readiness of instruments.
Track and document tray movement through the full sterilization and return cycle.
Oversee daily production flow in collaboration with SPD leadership to optimize efficiency and workload balance.
Identify and proactively resolve delays, discrepancies, or workflow bottlenecks.
Maintain clear communication with technicians and leadership regarding production priorities and capacity.
Provide day-to-day guidance or oversight to Production Technicians as needed, supporting performance standards and accountability.
Act as a liaison between vendors, clinical teams, and SPD staff to ensure clarity and alignment.
Maintain consistent communication with partner hospitals and surgery centers regarding tray status, schedules, and special requests.
Represent the organization professionally in all internal and external interactions.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry into instrument tracking and documentation systems.
Generate reports for leadership related to activity levels, volume trends, and improvement opportunities.
Maintain documentation standards supporting regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Seamless coordination of loaner and consignment trays with full accountability.
Proactive communication that strengthens internal and external partnerships.
Highly organized, data-driven production oversight.
Continuous process improvement through accuracy, awareness, and accountability.
3–5 years of hands-on Sterile Processing experience with a strong focus on loaner and consignment tray management.
Proven ability to collaborate across departments, vendors, and leadership teams.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with instrument tracking software and reporting tools.
Positive, proactive approach with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Certifications:
CRCST or CSPDT certification (required)
