Shift: Days (3x12) | 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM | 34.5 Hours/Week
Travel Rate: $2,897.50/week
Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to support the ICU Step Down (Med/Surg SD) unit during a period of increased patient census. This role focuses on caring for patients transitioning from the ICU who require closer monitoring than a standard Med/Surg unit. Nurses will maintain a 1:4 patient ratio, providing care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
Key Responsibilities
High-Acuity Monitoring: Care for patients requiring advanced monitoring and complex medical equipment, including cardiac monitors, ventilators, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and catheters.
Patient Assessment: Perform comprehensive and frequent assessments, identifying changes in patient condition and escalating care as needed.
Emergency Response: Respond effectively to rapid response events and cardiac arrest situations.
Clinical Procedures: Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administer conscious sedation in accordance with facility protocols.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical/Surgical Step Down unit or ICU setting.
Technical Skills:
IV insertion and phlebotomy experience (2+ years)
Conscious sedation experience (2+ years)
Education & Licensure:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Active New York State RN License
Required Certifications:
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
