Shift: Days (3x12) | 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM | 34.5 Hours/Week
Travel Rate: $2,897.50/week
Job Overview
Navitas Healthcare is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our ICU Step Down unit during a period of increased patient census. This role involves caring for patients transitioning from the ICU who require more intensive monitoring than a standard Med/Surg unit. Nurses will manage a 1:4 patient ratio, providing care for adults through geriatric populations.
Key Responsibilities
High-Acuity Monitoring: Manage patients with complex medical equipment, including catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
Patient Assessment: Conduct frequent assessments and escalate care promptly based on patient condition.
Emergency Response: Act swiftly and effectively in cardiac arrest and rapid response situations.
Clinical Procedures: Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administer conscious sedation as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in a Medical/Surgical Step Down unit or ICU experience.
Technical Skills:
IV insertion and phlebotomy (2+ years)
Conscious sedation administration (2+ years)
Education & Licensure:
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Active New York State RN license
Certifications:
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
