Travel ICU Step Down (Med/Surg SD) Registered Nurse
Location: Manhattan, NY
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Days (3x12) | 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Hours Per Week: 34.5
Travel Rate: $2,897.50/week
Job Overview:
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the ICU Step Down unit to support increased patient volume. This role focuses on caring for patients transitioning from the ICU who require closer monitoring than a general Med/Surg unit. The RN will manage a 1:4 patient ratio, caring for individuals ranging from young adults to geriatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
High-Acuity Monitoring: Manage patients with complex medical equipment, including catheters, feeding tubes, tracheostomies, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
Patient Assessment: Perform frequent assessments and promptly escalate care when patient conditions change.
Emergency Response: Respond efficiently to cardiac arrests and rapid response situations.
Procedures: Perform IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administer conscious sedation as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in Medical/Surgical Step Down nursing or
Minimum 2 years in ICU nursing
Technical Skills:
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
Education: Associate’s Degree (ASN/ADN) from an accredited Nursing Program (Bachelor’s preferred)
Licensure: Active New York State RN License
Certifications:
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
