Job Title: Staff Accountant / System Accountant
Job Type: Contract (as applicable)

The organization is seeking a detail-oriented System Accountant to support system-level accounting activities. This role is responsible for general ledger month-end close, complex account analysis, and reconciliations, including sub-system reconciliations. The accountant will also recommend improvements to accounting systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting (required)
Experience / Skills:
2–4 years of professional accounting experience
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
Solid knowledge of financial accounting principles
Effective oral and written communication skills
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and upload journal entries to the general ledger, including consolidation of business units and elimination entries to support system-level financials
Ensure accuracy and integrity of all recorded financial transactions
Reconcile general ledger accounts with monthly statements (e.g., bank statements, sub-system ledgers), make necessary adjustments, and report material variances to management
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for internal and external financial reporting, including auditor requests
Compile and analyze financial data to assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports
Analyze expenses, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to help forecast future revenues and expenses
Prepare reports to assist management in determining proper accounting treatment for reserves, assets, and expenditures
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and reporting deadlines
Support moderately complex accounting projects as assigned by management
Document processes and recommend process improvements and internal controls
Serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced accounting staff
Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and skills development
Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, productivity standards, and accuracy expectations
Demonstrate commitment to delivering compassionate, professional, and collaborative service to internal and external stakeholders
Perform other duties as assigned
Accounting degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting)
Experience with inventory accounting
Familiarity with Lawson and/or Blackline accounting systems
