Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students in an elementary school setting in Ashburn, VA. This role involves working one-on-one or in small groups with students who have behavioral, developmental, or communication needs. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and in collaboration with educators, the RBT will implement evidence-based behavioral interventions to support student success and IEP goals.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles

  • Provide direct student support in general education and special education environments

  • Assist students with classroom participation, transitions, and daily routines

  • Collect and document behavioral data (frequency, duration, ABC data) accurately and consistently

  • Support development of communication, social, play, and daily living skills

  • Utilize de-escalation strategies and follow safety protocols as needed

  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families while maintaining confidentiality

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or behavioral needs, preferably in a school setting

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of ABA techniques including reinforcement, prompting, and fading

  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Physical ability to assist students and implement safety procedures as required
