Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Shift: Day Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Schedule: Sunday through Saturday
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a short-term contract assignment in a skilled nursing/rehabilitation setting. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to assist patients in improving daily living skills, functional mobility, and independence.

This position requires flexibility, as the role includes split coverage across two nearby facilities during the workweek.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans.

  • Provide therapeutic interventions focused on activities of daily living (ADLs).

  • Support patients in improving strength, coordination, balance, and functional mobility.

  • Document patient progress, treatments provided, and response to therapy in a timely manner.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques.

  • Maintain compliance with all clinical, safety, and documentation standards.

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support patient outcomes.

Schedule & Assignment Details

  • Day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • 30-minute meal break

  • Split assignment:

    • 3 days per week onsite at one facility

    • 2 days per week onsite at a secondary nearby facility

  • Weekend availability may be required based on patient needs

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license/certification

  • Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Ability to adapt to working across multiple locations

  • Team-oriented with a patient-centered approach to care
