Position Overview
The Director of Postpartum Services oversees the daily operations, clinical quality, and staffing of the Mother Baby units and Lactation Services. This role ensures a high standard of patient-centered care, operational efficiency, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Preferred: Master’s Degree

Experience

  • Clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or Mother Baby required

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience (Supervisor or higher) within Women’s Services

  • Experience overseeing large teams or departments preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active RN License

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Strategic Leadership

  • Oversee efficient patient flow, volume forecasting, and admission/discharge planning

  • Manage financial stewardship, including budgeting and resource allocation

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure regulatory compliance

Clinical Quality

  • Advance patient safety and quality through evidence-based practices

  • Reduce variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency and outcomes

  • Monitor benchmarks and accreditations, pursuing opportunities to earn clinical designations

People & Culture

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams with accountability and transparency

  • Promote strong collaboration with NICU, Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, and other departments

  • Drive initiatives to achieve exceptional patient experience results
