Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)
Location: New York, NY 10003
Contract Duration: 9 Weeks
Hours: 37.5 Hours/Week (7.5 Hours/Day)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:15 PM
Pay Rate: $35 – $40/hour
Additional Notes: May float to a Hand Surgery Clinic on Wednesdays (same schedule)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Occupational Therapist (OT) for an exciting job in New York, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient conditions, establish treatment needs, and set achievable rehabilitation goals.

  • Develop and implement customized occupational therapy programs to address physical, emotional, psychological, or developmental challenges.

  • Utilize therapeutic, educational, and functional activities to help patients build daily living and work-related skills.

  • Track, monitor, and document patient progress with regular reporting.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with clinical standards.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, and rehab specialists.

  • Educate caregivers on support strategies for patient care during and after therapy.

  • Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to promote patient independence.

  • Participate in group activities, wellness programs, and therapeutic interventions as needed.

  • Assist providers during biweekly clinics with evaluations and care planning.

  • Coordinate with insurance providers as needed for approval of adaptive equipment.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Active New York State Occupational Therapy License

  • NBCOT Certification (preferred)

  • 0–2 years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist

  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic, therapeutic, and rehabilitative methods

  • Understanding of patient behavior, engagement strategies, and therapeutic communication

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, compassion, and ability to build effective patient rapport

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team
