Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step Down
Location: Elmhurst, NY
Contract Duration: 19 Weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x 11.5-hour flex shifts/week, alternating weekends & holidays; 1-hour meal break)
Local Weekly Pay: $2,214 – $2,415
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step Down for an exciting job in Elmhurst, NY.
Deliver comprehensive care to step-down patients requiring close observation, including those with tracheostomies, ventilators, feeding tubes, catheters, and cardiac monitors.
Conduct frequent assessments, identify subtle changes in patient condition, and escalate care as needed, including involving rapid response or ICU teams.
Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and vital sign changes; participate in rapid response and code situations.
Administer IV medications, perform IV insertions and phlebotomy, and manage conscious sedation in accordance with unit protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized patient care plans.
Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Step Down experience or *2 years of ICU experience.
At least 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
At least 2 years of conscious sedation experience.
Proven ability to care for adult and geriatric populations; completion of age-specific competency requirements.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
Evidence of graduation from a National League for Nursing–accredited institution.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; equivalent education and experience accepted.
Active New York State RN License.
