The Labor & Delivery RN will provide comprehensive care to laboring patients, postpartum mothers, and newborns. The ideal candidate is experienced, confident in managing emergent obstetric situations, and skilled in both maternal and neonatal assessment.
Provide continuous monitoring and assessment of laboring patients, including maternal and fetal vital signs.
Assist with vaginal deliveries: prepare room, support patient, and assist providers during delivery.
Deliver care for postpartum mothers and newborns, performing required screenings and assessments.
Manage IV lines, administer medications, and support labor interventions such as epidurals and induction agents.
Operate and interpret fetal monitoring equipment and respond to changes promptly.
Assist during obstetric emergencies including C-sections, postpartum hemorrhage, and neonatal resuscitation.
Perform newborn care: initial assessments, medications, thermoregulation, and family education.
Provide patient and family teaching regarding breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum expectations, and discharge planning.
Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR accurately.
Work collaboratively with providers, midwives, anesthesia, pediatrics, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required.
RN license: Ohio state license or compact license.
