Job Title: Special Education Teacher – Cross Categorical
Location: Ashburn, VA
Shifts Available: Monday–Friday | 07:00 AM – 02:45 PM
Pay Rate: $45/hr
Contract Length: 29 Weeks
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Special Education Teacher – Cross Categorical for an exciting Travel or Local job in Ashburn, VA.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to a range of disabilities and learning styles
• Implement and track Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive learning environments
• Manage classroom behaviors using evidence-based strategies
• Conduct progress monitoring, assessments, and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent communication, and interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Provide small-group and one-on-one instruction to meet individual student goals
• Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes independence and growth
Required Qualifications:
• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility in VA)
• Knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and implementation
• Experience supporting students with varied learning disabilities (LD, ED, OHI, Autism, etc.)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in an elementary education SPED role
• Proficiency in behavior management strategies and assistive technologies
• Experience in co-teaching or inclusion classroom models
