Position Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Hyannis, MA 02601
Job Type: Contract
Shift: Day
Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts
Local Pay Range: $50–$56/hour

Position Summary:

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Respiratory Therapist for an exciting job in Hyannis, MA.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)

  • Active Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License

  • Current BLS certification

  • NRP certification required

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English

  • Minimum of one year of critical care experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and manage ventilatory support, including setting adjustments, lung-protective strategies, weaning, and troubleshooting

  • Follow best practices, Therapist-Driven Protocols, and departmental procedures

  • Perform diagnostic procedures: ABG draws, sputum collection, capnography, bedside spirometry

  • Interpret arterial blood gas results accurately

  • Monitor patient respiratory status during intra- and inter-facility transports

  • Attend Codes and Rapid Response Team calls

  • Assist with conscious sedation procedures and intubations

  • Administer therapeutic gases (oxygen, Heliox, high-flow oxygen)

  • Support bronchoscopy procedures across applicable areas (Bronch Suite, OR, floors, ER, ICU)

  • Provide respiratory support for neonatal and pediatric patients, using all approved treatment modalities

  • Assess and maintain tracheostomy and laryngectomy tubes; perform suctioning and assist with tube changes

  • Administer airway-clearance therapies: PEP, CPT, aerosolized, and metered-dose medications

  • Assess, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot non-invasive ventilation

  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and provide clinical expertise

  • Ensure accurate documentation and daily charge reconciliation in EMR

  • Precept, train, and orient students and staff as needed

  • Maintain equipment and supplies; ensure adequate stocking of respiratory care items

  • Attend educational programs for professional development

  • Deliver excellent patient-centered care and maintain positive professional interactions

  • Perform additional duties as assigned
