Job Description:
An urgent opening is available for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support rehabilitation services within a skilled nursing environment. The PTA will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic care that enhances patient mobility, strength, and functional independence.
Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy interventions as outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.
Provide therapeutic exercises, balance training, gait training, and functional mobility activities.
Document treatments, patient progress, and observations in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
Communicate patient updates, concerns, and progress to the PT and interdisciplinary team.
Educate patients and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety practices.
Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a clean, safe treatment environment.
Participate in interdisciplinary care planning to support comprehensive patient outcomes.
Modify treatment activities based on patient tolerance and PT guidance.
Assist with functional assessments and contribute to discharge planning.
Follow all professional, facility, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey (or eligibility prior to start).
Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred.
Strong communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Reliability and readiness to support an urgent staffing need.
