Job Description:
An urgent opening is available for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support rehabilitation services within a skilled nursing environment. The PTA will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality therapeutic care that enhances patient mobility, strength, and functional independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy interventions as outlined by the supervising Physical Therapist.

  • Provide therapeutic exercises, balance training, gait training, and functional mobility activities.

  • Document treatments, patient progress, and observations in compliance with facility and regulatory standards.

  • Communicate patient updates, concerns, and progress to the PT and interdisciplinary team.

  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety practices.

  • Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a clean, safe treatment environment.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning to support comprehensive patient outcomes.

  • Modify treatment activities based on patient tolerance and PT guidance.

  • Assist with functional assessments and contribute to discharge planning.

  • Follow all professional, facility, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey (or eligibility prior to start).

  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program.

  • Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation preferred.

  • Strong communication, documentation, and patient-care skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Reliability and readiness to support an urgent staffing need.
