Contract Duration: 6, 8, 10, or 13 weeks (Flexible)
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-hour shifts
Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
Unit: Maternal Newborn / Mother Baby
A large healthcare system is seeking an experienced Mother Baby Registered Nurse (RN) for a night-shift travel assignment. The RN will care for postpartum mothers and newborns, providing patient education, monitoring recovery, and supporting breastfeeding and maternal needs.
Floating to similar women's health units may be required based on staffing needs.
Provide postpartum care to mothers and routine newborn care.
Perform patient assessments, vital signs, and postpartum checks.
Educate mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and recovery.
Administer medications and maintain accurate EMR documentation.
Support mother–infant bonding and safe sleep practices.
Collaborate with OB, L&D, Nursery, and interdisciplinary teams.
Float to related maternal–child units as needed.
Follow all facility protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control standards.
Active RN License (State of Texas or compact)
BLS Certification – Required
NRP Certification – Required
Minimum 2 years of recent Mother Baby/Postpartum RN experience
Strong communication skills and ability to support new mothers & families
Ability to work night shifts and weekends as needed
Setting: Large acute-care Maternal–Child Health facility
Location: Denton, TX
Shift: 7p–7a (12-hour nights)
Weekend Requirement: As needed
Holiday Requirement: May be off for all holidays
