Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Location: New York, NY 10032
Contract Duration: 10 Weeks

Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and perform a variety of direct patient care tasks and supportive non-clinical duties. This role supports patient comfort, safety, and daily living needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist patients with personal hygiene and grooming
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information
• Assist with feeding as needed
• Transport patients to and from various hospital departments
• Deliver and pick up lab specimens
• Assist patients in and out of bed
• Replenish and maintain patient supplies
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients
• Perform assigned cleaning duties
• Handle bedpans, urinals, and properly label specimens
• Make patient beds and maintain room order
• Respond to call lights and relay messages promptly
• Clean and maintain patient care equipment
• Provide post-mortem care and transport bodies to morgue when required
• Prepare patients for procedures or operations
• Collect soiled linen and deposit it in designated laundry areas
• Measure and record vital signs, height, weight, intake/output, and other observations
• Perform back rubs when indicated
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Work Experience & Skills

• Previous nurse aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an accredited training program
• Completion of a Nurse Aide Training Program or enrollment in a BSN program (junior year or having completed at least one clinical practicum)
• Ability to demonstrate basic math competency
• Physical ability to perform assigned job tasks
• Good personal hygiene and professionalism
• Ability to work effectively with staff, patients, and visitors
• Ability to receive direction from and report to Registered Nurses
• Knowledge of Infection Control principles
• Understanding of patient safety, especially regarding confused or high-risk patients
