Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Schedule: 3×12-hour shifts/week | Every Other Weekend Required | 3/6 Holidays | No On-Call
Float: Within facility to like units
Unit: High-acuity / Busy ED (1:6+ ratios)
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) provides immediate, high-quality care to patients experiencing urgent and emergent medical conditions. This role requires rapid assessment, clinical competency, and the ability to prioritize care for patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of trauma, medical, and behavioral health needs. ED RNs must be prepared to respond decisively, work efficiently in fast-paced environments, and deliver compassionate, evidence-based care.
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in emergency and trauma situations.
Rapidly and accurately assess incoming patients with various medical and behavioral conditions.
Prioritize patient injuries and care needs according to severity and acuity.
Deliver a broad range of nursing services while maintaining high clinical standards.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Respond promptly to emergent situations requiring immediate intervention.
Maintain patient safety, documentation accuracy, and adherence to departmental policies.
Participate in floating to comparable units as needed within the facility.
Minimum 18 months of Nursing experience in an Emergency Department.
ED experience must be within the last 6 months.
Demonstrated clinical performance and ability to develop effective nursing care plans.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
Ability to provide a diverse range of professional nursing services.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Active NJ Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact License.
BLS (AHA)
ACLS
PALS
NIHSS
Telemetry Certification
4-hour CEU Stroke Contact Course
