Job Description: We are seeking a skilled CT Scan Technologist to perform computer tomography procedures and related imaging techniques, producing sectional and 3D images for diagnostic interpretation. This role also supports interventional and therapeutic procedures as needed. The ideal candidate demonstrates clinical expertise, attention to detail, and strong patient care skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform complex CT procedures following established protocols.
Review patient clinical history and documentation, ensuring accuracy in PACS and EPIC.
Prepare, screen, and review contrast questionnaires with patients and/or family members.
Administer contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
Verify exam prescriptions, clarify with Radiologists or referring physicians if needed, and ensure insurance authorization.
Obtain outside imaging studies, schedule in EPIC, and ensure availability in PACS for Radiologist review.
Provide patients and providers with exam copies as required.
Evaluate radiographs in PACS to confirm diagnostic quality and proper identification.
Prepare patients for scanning, including shielding, immobilization, and other safety measures.
Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients; address and document patient questions and concerns.
Perform venipuncture and maintain IV access according to guidelines.
Adhere to departmental policies regarding attendance, punctuality, and standards of behavior.
Maintain physical requirements including lifting up to 25 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs., and standing up to 6 hours per day.
Deliver patient-centered care tailored to age, culture, language, or special needs.
Required Skills & Experience:
Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, radiological positioning, and CT hardware/software.
Proficiency with PACS systems.
Ability to maintain CEU credits.
ARRT (R) certification required; must achieve ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Minimum six months CT experience preferred.
Experience with EPIC or other HIS/RIS systems.
Education:
Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure & Certification:
NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License required.
ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license required.
BLS certification required.
ARRT CT certification preferred.
