Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Summary
The Endoscopic Technician supports the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy team during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This role includes preparing instruments, assisting physicians, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the endoscopy suite. Experience with advanced procedures such as ERCP, EUS, and Bronchoscopy is required.
Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures, including:
ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography)
Bronchoscopy
EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound)
General Endoscopy procedures
Prepare procedure rooms, ensuring all equipment, supplies, and instruments are ready and functioning properly.
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopy equipment per established standards and infection-control protocols.
Set up monitors, scopes, and accessories prior to each procedure.
Support nursing and medical staff with patient preparation and positioning.
Handle specimen collection, labeling, and transportation according to protocol.
Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions immediately.
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, equipment logs, and supply usage.
Provide on-call coverage as required (one shift per week).
Ensure adherence to safety standards, infection control policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Endoscopic Technician or in a similar role.
Must have hands-on experience with:
ERCP
Bronchoscopy
EUS
General Endoscopy
Knowledge of endoscopic equipment cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization procedures.
Strong understanding of GI and pulmonary endoscopic procedures.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Certification as a GI/Endoscopy Technician (CGIT or similar) – preferred but not required.
Experience working in a hospital or high-volume endoscopy center.
