Job Title: Registered Nurse – Unit Manager (RN UM)

Location: Mountain Ridge Center
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Contract Length: 14 Weeks
Job Summary

The Registered Nurse Unit Manager oversees daily clinical operations and nursing care delivery for an assigned unit within a long-term care/skilled nursing environment. This leadership role ensures regulatory compliance, high-quality resident outcomes, and effective coordination of staff and resources. The RN UM collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to promote excellence in resident care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily nursing operations for the assigned unit, ensuring high standards of clinical care and regulatory compliance.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.

  • Conduct assessments, evaluate resident conditions, and ensure timely implementation of care plans.

  • Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges with accurate documentation and coordination.

  • Monitor quality indicators, participate in QAPI activities, and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, providers, families, and facility leadership.

  • Ensure adherence to infection control policies, safety standards, and facility protocols.

  • Manage staff assignments, workflow, and performance on the unit.

  • Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions.

  • Support emergency response and clinical problem-solving within the unit.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Active RN license in the state of assignment (or compact).

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or unit manager role.

  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

  • Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or post-acute settings.

  • Ability to manage staff, delegate tasks, and resolve clinical concerns effectively.

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior travel experience as an RN or Nurse Manager.

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

  • Knowledge of state and federal LTC regulations, including CMS guidelines.
